Seize Me (Breakneck #1)
by: Crystal Spears
Blurb ~ Winter Belov was the
sweet innocent one in her crime family, the dutiful daughter that never
disappointed her father. One day, her father does the unspeakable. When
he turns his back, Winter flees across the country, taking her life
savings with her, determined never to enter that sort of lifestyle
again.
No longer innocent, she now lives in Nevada. Lana is her best friend and the only family Winter has. Together, they are two of the best exotic dancers in the county. While working a shift, Pyro, Lana’s long time crush, propositions Winter. He begs her to do a private gig at Breakneck. She accepts, with the condition that Lana dances with her.
When Winter’s eyes lock with Braxxon Breaker's, the President of Breakneck, she realizes she is no longer free; she has been seized. He is everything she is running from but at the same time, everything she wants. Braxxon will not take no for an answer, and purposely disrupts Winter’s life.
Rivals of Braxxon’s club are vicious and they do something that will have him out for blood. Winter's and Braxxon’s relationship is anything but a normal one. If they want to be together, crimes must be committed, friendships will be broken and people are going to die.
What happens when all that chaos mixes with Winter’s father locating her? It will be a bloodshed when Winter and Braxxon seek revenge and take no prisoners.

My Review & Rating
3.5 Stars
I’ll admit this certainly wasn’t my favorite or even near
favorite MC book. I can usually overlook the cockiness and sometimes dickish
moves of the main characters but at times I literally wanted to wring Braxxon’s
neck. I know I know being the president of an MC is not easy and the men live
hard and dirty lives but he just managed to push my buttons the wrong way more
than once. When Braxxon is mad he acts out, sort of like a child. He’s
aggressive, controlling and sometimes out of control. Needless to say Winter is
no wilting wallflower on her own. She's brazen bold and totally unafraid of
speaking her mind even if there’s a chance it will get her killed.
Winter has east coast mob ties. In fact because of her
‘family’ she ran away and never looked back. She chose to dance in a place no
one would ever look for her and she could still earn the respect and practice
of her skill. All that changes when she
agrees to help out her best friend and offer a local MC a special dance for the
club’s president.
Braxxon wants Winter immediately. As president nothing will
stand in his way and getting Winter in his bed is a number one priority. Very
early on in the story everything speeds up. What starts slow gains momentum
like a roller coaster. One minute Winter is hesitant to dance and when it comes
time to meet the birthday boy she wants to run and hide. She doesn’t sleep
around but within minutes Braxxon has her under him. What bothered me most was
his lack of respect and her sudden turn-around which was made all the more
confusing considering she was blindfolded and never saw his face the whole
time.
Considering the touchy subject matter I couldn’t put this
book down. After dancing for Braxxon she realizes they may be stuck within the
MC for an undetermined amount of time all thanks to a faulty car. Winter is not
happy considering she wants nothing to do with the life but with Braxxon around
to keep her attitude flaring and sex drive
out of control, she more pretends to be unhappy than anything else.
Until she’s kidnapped by a rival gang and brutally tortured and raped… (You’ve
been warned. Even with the negative context, Winter is strong and I’ve read
much worse graphic scenes but for those of you who don’t like anything like
this then I would look somewhere else.)
Braxxon may save Winter’s body but growing up in the life
and living the way she has had hardened her in ways most women would shatter.
Winter wants revenge and she won’t stop till she gets it. Somehow the
relationship between Winter and Braxxon is better when she returns. Sure he’s a
dick and acts like a child but Winter doesn’t seem to mind. She’s used to men
acting like asshats and with all the drama occurring around her it’s easier for
her living in a place she’s comfortable and used to.
Overall this was an okay read. I often get turned off by the
callous way the men treat their women, even their ol’ ladies. I think the best
part of this book for me was knowing the MC has a female charter their
associated with. I kept thinking Winter would turn her badassery into a club effort
but then again she had enough to worry about with her family and MC drama. Fans
of MC romances will find all their expecting and more in this book. Some scenes
are graphic and the men are vulgar. There are scenes involving murder,
drug-use, drug abuse and I could go on. Winter and Braxxon are not normal
everyday people and this story just justifies that point.
