Game time is fast approaching; you can feel the excitement in the air around us as we all clean up. We pack all of the chairs, tents and food, putting everything into the back of our trucks.

Closing the tailgate, Kayden turns to look at me. “Ready to watch Texas kick some Oregon ass?” Wrapping his strong arms around my waist, he pulls me up against his hard slab of muscles; engulfing me in his warm embrace.  

Gazing into his eyes, happiness washes over me. I flash him a big smile, “I am super excited! The energy and excitement is so contagious!”

Leaning down Kayden brushes his lips against mine bestowing a swift but tender kiss upon them, the passion in his kiss causes my heart to flutter as my core tightens at his words, “you look hot in your Longhorns Jersey, baby. Tonight I want to see you in this and nothing else.”

Smacking his chest playfully, I wiggle out of his embrace. Taking my hand, Kayden laces our fingers together, and gives my arm a gentle tug as a small smile dances across his lips. Kayden leads us through the sea of people as we make our way towards the stadium, this place is packed, and I could easily get lost if we got separated so I squeeze his hand a little tighter as we push through the crowd.

“If Texas wins, you gotta deal Cowboy.” Winking at him, I can’t control my giggles as a big ass grin spreads across Kayden’s gorgeous face. I love seeing him in his element and being able to experience this with him. This is definitely going to be a day I’ll cherish forever.

“Deal…because baby, I know Texas won’t let me down!” Kayden says slapping me playfully on the butt.

Rolling my eyes I let out a small chuckle, “You’re confident, but this isn’t a fair wager, I need something if they lose?”

“What do you want to wager, my sweet Savannah?”

Trying to keep a straight face, I say the one thing I know Kayden will absolutely hate to do if Texas loses. “You have to wear an Oregon University State Championship T-shirt out to the bars tonight.”

“Fuck that! Texas better win, because the only way that’s happening is if hell freezes over! I thought you would pick something fun like have my body to live out all of your wildest fantasies, something hot not torturous!”

If Tears of Tess screwed with your mind then be prepared once again for an even bigger and better Mind*uck. Q is back and this time he’s out to prove his devotion and obsession to Tess. But as we all know sometimes the easiest plans are the hardest especially when you live in the dark.

So I found the beginning a bit awkward, in a way only because you can feel the residual tension in both Q and Tess that is controlling them both since Tess’s return. Tess is ready to make Q believe she’s there for the long haul. But dirty minded Q can’t stop believing that he’s too much for Tess. And boy oh boy Q is a lot too handle I admit. Some of his kinky fuc*ery scares me but not Tess and that’s what she wants him to understand.

Q has his romantic side too. The possessive side that makes Tess his and heaven forbid someone should so much as touch Tess. Well unfortunately for these two Q has enemies. Fairly early on Q do everything in his power to reclaim Tess all the while she’s being tortured. And trust me when I say it’s in a way that would make any sane person go off the deep end.

Tess is strong, but is there love strong enough? I honestly love the connection between Tess and Q. If there was truly anyone meant for him it is most definitely Tess. And this book brings about quite a few changes in the characters. They are tested and even their relationship is hanging by a thread. But Q has some hidden sides to his personality that slowly begin to grow in this book and boy what a transformation that was.

I still think it’s impressive how much we feel for Q. Sure he went through a horrific childhood and his dad was by far the worst role model ever. But somehow given his need to save slaves/girls and dark tendencies in the bedroom you still can’t help but get shivers from him. Sure he scares the shit out of you but there’s something twisted inside of him that calls out to your own hidden dark fantasies. (Maybe minus the blood. That is one thing I still can’t get on board with lol.)

We have dual POV’s in this book so it’s easy to stay enveloped in both Q and Tess’s minds. I loved the dynamic and the unfailing determination of Q that easily resonates from Pepper’s writing. You’ll be sucked in and spit out at the end. But once again there is no life ending cliff-hanger so awaiting the next book should not be too hard. Hands up to Pepper Winters though, once again I was shocked, scared and involved from start to finish. This writer has one insane mind and no matter how sick and twisted things get you just can’t stop. I found this book even darker than Tears of Tess so take a deep breath before starting. Somehow this series just keeps getting better and better and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Q and Tess. One thing for sure, life for these two is never what you expect and I’m certainly looking forward to Twisted Together set for a early 2014 release.
