My mind is in soo many places right now.. This book was crazy as hell and one bumpy ass ride... Beyond Dark, Beyond Twisted, this was another great DARK romance from Pepper Winters... I highly emphasize the DARK part... If Q left you with wet panties, I’d suggest not even wearing any this time around.

I am
in book heaven right now. Pepper has done it again and even though the DARK
and naughty aspects carry on in this book from her others, Destroyed is a
Life of its own and will leave you in awe. Not to mention you may sport the
worst Book Hangover EVER!!!
It’s hard to review this without giving
away any spoilers but I will try my best… Hazel is hurting. She is suffering
from a pain in her life most people can’t understand. Every day is a battle
but she has to keep going because others rely on her. She has to be strong
and keep up a front. So going to a creepy mansion where buff guys beat the
ever loving crap out of each other is heaven for her. The pain, sorrow, agony
and anger of the fights fuels her. It motivates her in ways nothing else can.
Until she catches the eye of club owner Fox.
"I won't let you go until I've had you, and there's nothing you can do to stop it." She looked at me as if I were the devil asking for her soul. My stomach roiled with sick satisfaction. Too long I'd been the one being used. It would be nice to use someone else for change. To use her body, her mind, her soul to fix everything inside of me." - Fox
When Fox sees Hazel, he recognizes a
similar pain. He needs to have her, in any capacity and will not stop at
kidnapping. So begins Hazel and Fox’s FUCKED up connection. Hazel may have
pain in her life but she has nothing on the ghosts that haunt Fox. Fox is
DANGER, plain and simple. He has no friends, relationships or connections at
all. For him a good release is either beating someone to (almost) death or
having the same done to him. He’s a conundrum that’s for sure, but if anyone
can understand him and help him, it has to be Hazel, right?
Everyone
and everything is so F%^&ED, be prepared to lose part of yourself while
reading this. So many emotions from hate, anger, passion, lust to love,
grief, regret and sorrow... Ughh, my mind is screwed for a while now... There are scenes of rape, murder, death, the
list goes on. If it’s a horrible moment it happens. But that brings me to the
plot/storyline. It was effortlessly written and developed. Even with so much
happening it was never overwhelming or overdone. Each small plot point works
within the story making it that much better.

 Overall I don’t know why I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed Destroyed. Sure it was probably one of the most MindFuckY books I’ve ever read and I know I’ll be reading this again. Even when I hated Fox and I wanted to kill him, Hazel saw through it, she saw someone who needed her and this girl is not wilting flower. Many times she had the choice to leave, to run and she never gave up. Hell of a main character. Fox is another Q only he stands apart on his own and gives Christian (50 Shades of Gray) a run for his money with his dark past and twisted future... If Dark and Dirty are your thing and you don’t mind some unsavory graphic scenes, you NEED to read this, don’t wait a second longer!!! |
