SUMMARY:
From USA Today bestselling author Lisa Desrochers comes the third book
in her sizzling new adult series.
If you play with fire …
Tossed out of college and cut off by
her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best
friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen's club, who is she to
turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny's: No touching, keep
your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet.
Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every
single one of them.
Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but
he's got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is
determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it
flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming. Because Harrison
Yates isn't who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

MY REVIEW

4.5 Stars ★★★★☆
My Review for A Little Too Far
&
A Little Too Much
ARC
provided by Author for Honest Review
I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series,
before reading A Little Too Hot. This book blew me away. Where I really enjoyed
the first book and just liked the second, I can’t put into words how shocked
and in love I am with this one. I can easily say this is the best book in the
series yet and my favorite by far. A
Little Too Hot was not only Too Hot but out of this world.
Lisa Desrochers outdid herself this time and I loved every
minute. From the blurb alone I knew this story would be different. I was not
wrong. Nothing is what you think and even though the climax occurs fairly early
on in the story, there was an added element of suspense and intrigue that the
other books lack.
The books don’t necessarily connect but all the past characters
do make somewhat brief appearances. Again this book takes on the POV of the
lead female only, which is a little saddening but Samantha is a great heroine
and I respected her choices and strong role throughout.
After being kicked out of home and college, Samantha is at a
loss. She can crash on a friends couch but needs some serious cash to even do
that. A friend of hers suggests working at a local gentleman’s club called
Benny’s. Obviously Samantha can’t fathom the idea but with a few reassurances
that no clothes need to come off and she can retain some sense of propriety Sam
is out of options and decides to give it a go. On her first night she captures
the attention of someone who appears to be an old flame. So what’s a girl in
her shoes to do? Make him suffer, obviously. Using her muse in the audience Sam
gives the performance of a lifetime all just while dancing and not removing any
clothes. The downside to doing so well is being called into the back to perform
private dances.
Many private dances later and Sam is enamored by her muse
AKA Harrison. The two continue to play off each other and when Harrison
continues to return and flirt with Sam, she decides to take it to the next
level never expecting her proposition to blow up in her face.
Overall I loved this book and even though some could say the
book was predictable I did not find it that way. Each page was a wonderful
mysterious journey and I couldn’t have been happier to experience Sam lose her
cool. Trust me when I say this girl does not like being pushed in a corner and
using her in any fashion will probably get you killed. Harrison has a lot to work out if he wants a
chance with Sam and this is no easy romance that’s for sure. Even with the
climax occurring so early on I was still interested and involved from the first
page. If you loved the first two books in the series, there’s no way you won’t
enjoy this one. In many ways it is completely different but flows well without
seeming repetitive in any way. None of the heroines or male leads are remotely
similar and I think it helps make each book its own. I can’t recommend this
book more and know this will certainly become a re-read.
