I loved this book. It was really fabulous. Excuse me for saying this, but it was so much better than book #1 Without Boundaries.
Declan is an MMA fighter and when he first lays eyes on Ava, he claims her, even if she is beyond hesitant and unaware of his declaration. Ava has many responsibilities on top of going to school and working. Her life is constantly busy and she can’t take the chance that Declan will come into her life and leave it in shreds when things don’t work out.
Declan doesn’t give up though. For months he remains a faithful friend to Ava, all the while silently hoping she will eventually give in and be his. Once Declan finds out Ava’s secret, their relationship begins to flourish and Declan surprised even me with his over the top kindness and absolute dedication to proving his worth to Ava. Declan was so easy to love.
So there are two ‘Secrets,’ in the story if you will. What I didn’t like is both are fairly easy to figure out and I was just hoping and praying that the second ‘secret’ would not be true. Unfortunately, both proved to be true, I guess in a way I just wish they were either hidden a bit more to add some element of surprise rather than foreshadowing of some apocalyptic event with the power to separate Ava and Declan. And during this ‘event’ I was totally on Ava’s side, pissed as all hell at Declan and not understanding what he was doing but like Ava, eventually it all makes sense and Declan proves his true loving colors.
The pace of this story was extremely fast and it was written really well. Since the characters are not part of an insta-love, insta-relationship things move fairly fast, often skipping months at a time. But again, this was handled very well and I never felt lost or out of place. The writing style overall was very well written and easy to follow along, in fact, I don’t remember even putting my kindle down more than twice.
Overall I was in love with this book. It had everything I love and need in a good read and I enjoyed it from page 1. This series is easy to enjoy and with so many male characters I can’t even begin to guess whose story will be next, but I admit I can’t wait.
My Review for Without Boundaries
CJ has lived all over the state of California, Central, South, North and finally landing back somewhere in the middle. She married the boy she fell for when she was only eleven years old and together they have two beautiful heathens. CJ obviously loves to read and write. She can watch the Giant’s play baseball but hates football. She bakes when she’s sad, runs when she’s mad and dances when she’s happy (even if she cant find a rhythm to save her life) If you’re looking for her and can’t seem to find her, look on the staircase, it’s her favorite spot to read.
