Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love, and what’s more romantic than Paris? The City of Lights, strolling along the Seine, toasting with a glass of Bordeaux as the Eiffel Tower twinkles in the background.

But let’s get real for a minute.

While that can happen in Paris, it usually doesn’t. Instead you’re likely to be hit on by gross French guys (most of whom are married) or be stuck waiting in some eternal “line” (if you can even call those meandering queues at the check-out a line) on your way to get where you really want to be.
