SYNOPSIS
***This novel contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is
only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.
Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or so numb that you actually felt high? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between.
Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don't care about anything or anyone.
Except Tatum.
I love her so much that I hate her. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn't trust her or anyone else.
So I hurt her. I pushed her away.
But I still need her. The sight of her centers me, and I can pool all of my anger into her. Engaging her, challenging her, bullying her...they are my food, my air, and the last part of me that feels anything human.
But she left. She went to France for a year, and came back a different girl.
Now, when I push, she pushes back.

My Review

Sooo I guess I should start off by saying this was a great
book but it didn’t live up to Bully. Mostly due to the
already knowing what was going to happen and having such a kinship with Tate. I
guess my main problem is still not thinking Jared was justified in being as
cruel as he was. However, even given all that, Jared is one hot man. A hot man
who once he puts the moves on, it’s easy to see how panties fly when he’s around.
Sure there are a lot of similarities to Bully.
Until You is still a separate entity all its own. Penelope
Douglas did an excellent job of creating a new story, with new secrets all by
being told from Jared’s POV. And I can’t lie, there were many things I did not
like in Bully, questions I had that went unanswered. But
Until You opens all these old wounds and these begin to flow
from Jared’s eyes
Jared loves Tate. There is no question about it. The tension
and denial between these two is probably the most hardcore considering there
circumstances. I enjoyed the brief times where we got to see Tate and Jared interacting
as children and how close their relationship was. It was heartbreaking and I
felt like I myself lost someone when life and an unfortunate circumstance separates
these two until Tate’s tormenting year from home that tests Jared like nothing before.
It’s one thing to have her close and be a pawn to his practical jokes and
cruelty, but when she’s not there a part of him is literally lost.
Maddox. Oh I can’t wait for his story. In reality so much of
Tate and Jared is up to him and I can’t wait for his story. He’s outrageous and
still bold even after receiving kicks and punches that would leave most men holding
a grudge.
Everything I loved about Bully was
present here but told in a new way so the experience was once again fresh. Even
having memories of scenes in Bully did nothing to make this book
easy to put down. The angst and tension is constantly high. Jared has a high
boiling point and each time Tate steps in his path, you can feel the emotions
hit you square in the chest. Prepare to waste hours reading Until
You. If I was you I’d call out sick and take a day because this book
needs to be read. (Reading Bully is not necessary but I highly recommend it
since some scenes which are rushed over in Until You are more detailed and
involved coming from Tate. And plus then everyone gets a double dose of Jared.)
Penelope Douglas is a writer and teacher
in Las Vegas. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, she is the oldest of five children.
Penelope attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Bachelor's degree
in Public Administration, because her father told her to "just get the
degree!" She then earned a Masters of Science in Education at Loyola
University in New Orleans, because she hated Public Administration. One night,
she got tipsy and told the bouncer at the bar where she worked that his son was
hot, and three years later they were married. To the son, not the bouncer. They
have spawn, but just one. A daughter named Aydan. Penelope loves sweets, the
show Sons of Anarchy, and she shops at Target almost daily.

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer
to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak
to me.
But he still won't leave me alone.
We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission
to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through
high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I
made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a
year, just to avoid him.
But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow
him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to
fight back.
