Title: Seamless
Series: By A Thread #3
Author: RL Griffin
Release Date: December 10, 2013
Summary:
Professional, successful, survivor Stella has mastered the art of appearances and conquering what life throws at her. Time after time, she chooses to fight even though she's consistently poised to break. It's that fight to get her life back, to make things right, to survive that defines who she is. She's been loved, left, lost, blown up, shot, and exploited. Physically, she's almost completely put back together. Mentally, Stella's one step from a vindictive retaliation that may or may not be her best choice.
In Seamless, Stella has no choice but to step into the ring with someone who she once loved. It's a dirty fight that will take all she has. Will she do what it takes to win? Will she make it out alive?
You'll cheer her on until you realize all is not what it seems. Appearances can be deceiving.

When your name is Stella Murphy life sucks… Literally. For
the past five years Stella has been plagued by nothing but awful events that
make every small bit of happiness in her life disappear. After the huge
cliffhanger ending we were left with in Tension, Seamless
picks up right from the end. The action starts of huge and you can’t help but
hope that Stella will finally catch a break. There’s only so many shootings,
bombings, kidnappings, burying of fiancées who are later resurrected and
beatings one person can handle. And these are all occurrences from previous
books.
I should mention that this was an epic conclusion that I couldn’t
wait to finish. Seamless delivers, seamlessly if you can
excuse the pun. Having read only the first two books in the series I’ll admit
it is necessary to read the previous book Tension in order
to fully understand the story. That being said when I finished
Tension I had no clue there was even a book before it.
Honestly, even now I feel like so much was summed up or brought up in
Tension to feel the reading book #1 By a
Thread was even necessary. So much happens to Stella that even in
this book I found myself often saying, ‘Come on,’ as if someone’s luck could
truly be so bad. But having read these last two I can say I was pleasantly
impressed. Even with the sometime outlandish amounts of plain bad that Stella
has to deal with you can’t help but enjoy her spark of humor and brash
attitude.
I did however find myself wanting to smack Stella over and
over. She loves George and he loves her but every five minutes her
Life has her pushing him away. My heart broke for both of
them and added with all the drama and suspense this book had my pulling my hair
out in no time, sweating as I waited out their HEA.
I guess I should point out that this is the FINAL book in
the series so no ugly cliffhangers this time. Though if you’re like me the end
of the book will blow your mind and for once there’s not even a bomb involved.
I did feel the end of the book was rushed. One minute there’s a moment of peace
and suddenly the world is imploding and Stella is questioning everything and
even timelines speed up, often leaving me disconnected from a story I couldn’t wait
to ride out.
On a side note I didn’t like Patrick, Stella’s friend last
time and I disliked him even more this time around. Just something about him
and the secrets he held from Stella make it hard to accept him as part of her
life. Don’t even get me started on the huge whopper and jaw dropper that happens
here…
Overall I was impressed with Stella’s journey. Luckily
somehow things work out and that’s not to say her ‘lifestyle of drama’ doesn’t jump
up every step of the way. I wish the end was more hashed out. It felt like a
rushed summary especially the epilogue. But the remainder of the story was so
engrossing that I was left stunned after reading it, enough so that the dodgy
ending wasn’t too hard to handle. Fans of the series will be pleasantly
surprised and left guessing constantly as Stella fights her way to normal.
Dropping the FBI Beauty moniker and becoming normal again is all Stella wants
and Seamless is the journey of and if she can finally achieve
it.
