The Secret of Ella & Micha
by: Jessica Sorensen
★★★★ 4 Stars
Blurb ~ Ella and Micha have been best friends since they were kids. But one tragic night shatters their friendship and their lives forever.
Ella used to be a rule-breaker with fiery attitude who wore her heart on her sleeve. But she left everything behind when she went to college and transformed into someone that follows the rules, keeps everything together, and hides all her problems. But now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home.
Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. If Micha tries to tempt the old her back, she knows that it will be hard to resist.
Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella’s skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he’s determined to bring his best friend, and the girl he loves back, no matter what it takes.

Not everyone lives in a white class suburb. That’s the case
for both Ella and Micha. After dealing with a huge loss, Ella runs away, hoping
to effectually change who she is and hide from her past. Returning to town during school break, brings
her back to her next door neighbor, best friend and partner in crime, Micha.
All the time Ella’s been gone, Micha has been searching for her. When the two
are nearby sparks fly and sarcastic quips run amok. Ella and Micha are no angels,
they were never A-students nor did they have the type of parents to enforce strict
rules and curfews. No these two make their own fun and rules go right out the
window. Think drag-racing, roof jumping and partying till the sun comes up.
Being home is a reminder of everything Ella ran away from.
With Micha by her side she has to face her loss and admit why she ran and what
scares her most. Finally having Ella back is everything Micha has been dreaming
of and he fights to help her through her pain. The connection between these two
is extremely strong and moments like when they wrestle in the sprinkler will
bring a cheesy smile to your face.
The entire book is great, every page entertaining and
engaging. The end also deserves an applause because though it is clearly not
the end of the story for Micha and Ella there is no cliff-hanger or dreadful
need to sell you children for book #2. A plus in my book. And with Micha’s musical side coming to the
forefront, one has to admit its
promising to think of a Micha Scott serenade in the future.
Overall I love The Secret of Ella and Micha. This was my
second time reading it and it was just as good. Ella and Micha are intense
characters and that’s not to mention their chemistry. Together the two are
combustible and all the trouble they get into is like being in high school all
over again.
