Blurb ~ Will their past determine their future?

Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down... and now he’s trying to do it again.

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

My Review

I admit it, I’m a cheaty Mc. Cheater. After winning a PPB copy of Nash from Goodreads (Goodreads ROCKS!!) a month ahead of its release I figured it was a sign from above to read the book. Sure I had only read Rule (#1) but even then I wanted Nash’s story the most. He’s the sweetest and most understood of the gang. Few know to look beyond the body covering tattoos and see the teddy bear underneath. I however, wanted that and more.

After reading the blurb for Nash I thought the tension would be at a much higher point. Sure, there’s relationship woes and Saint’s initial hatred for Nash but too soon the hatred is dealt with and the most exciting issue was gone.

Saint was an up-and-down character. Sometimes she was likable, especially when I mildly hated Nash for the shitty way I thought he treated her and other times not so much. Saint tends to create problems for herself and cause stress regarding issues that are in a sense made-up. When she finds the truth from Nash and his involvement in hating him during high school, the why was discussed, denied and moved on from. I still feel unclear on this.  Even knowing the truth, Saint pushes Nash away.

Nash finally having his story was super exciting and only mildly thrilling in the end. I think at times Nash gave in to Saint too much and let her wound him and others he gave in too easily. For a badass I was a bit disappointed. He was very persistent in his pursuit of Saint and even with her hatred simmering he sought out to woo her adding some very sweet elements to the story.

I was glad to see other characters throughout the story. They mostly make vague appearances and a wedding is glossed over but it was still nice to see everyone happy and in love via their HEA.
Overall I enjoyed Nash as much as I did Rule. This series seriously deals with some intense men with an affinity to sexy tattoos and orgasm inducing piercings. Honestly I think that’s all that needs sayin’.

EXCERPT

“Liam, huh? You’re a virgin.”

My mouth starts to drop open. I shut it quickly and clear my throat. “Excuse me?”

Trixie moves forward, almost pressing herself against me. She eyes me before continuing, “I’m not talking about your dick, but you’ve never been in a green room before. That makes you a virgin in my book.”

I swallow hard, afraid of breaking eye contact with her. Trixie steps away, laughing. “What’s your story, Liam the virgin?”

“Um… I’m just looking to play.”
