Author: Lynne Silver
Series: Coded for Love #5
Genre: Adult Fantasy Romance
Publication: March 27, 2014
Abused wife, Jill Thompson knows she has to get out of her bad marriage. Like yesterday. With no money, no job and no friends, this small town girl can’t find a safe harbor. But when she sees a news report that The Program, a US military base, is seeking women to be matches for their genetically enhanced soldiers, she sees her opportunity. If she is lucky enough to be a match, her snake-mean husband, Jack, won’t be able to find her, let alone hurt her ever again.
Rowan Blacker, is the only soldier of his cohort to request a breed match. He’s the newest soldier on campus and thanks to his genetic defect, he feels like an outcast. Matching and breeding with a woman will help him fit in with the team. Unfortunately Rowan’s match is nothing like the sexy, fun woman he was hoping to romance. The woman they claim is his perfect DNA match, is a scared shell of a woman carrying a trunkful of emotional baggage. Against their better judgment, they move in together and as Jill shakes off the shackles of abuse, their attraction ignites.
Engineered with superior strength, agility and acumen, the genetically enhanced soldiers of the top secret Program do the dangerous assignments no one else can. Now, they’re tasked with one additional job. Breed.
But finding and convincing their perfect DNA match they are the right men for the job may be their most dangerous mission to date. And the hottest. Good thing, they’re Coded for Love.

Hey all, Let’s play a game of Would Your Rather. Do you know how to play? It’s easy. I ask a question and you answer. When my kids and I play, we try to come up with the grossest questions imaginable. Some highlights from my boys (ages 9 & 11) include:
Q. Would you rather drink water from the toilet or lick the bottom of my sneaker?
My answer: Sneaker
Q. Would you rather have to sleep on a bed of Legos or have a dead snake in your bed?
My answer: Legos. Snakes give me the heebie jeebies.
Got the idea? Good. Let’s make our version slightly less juvenile. The hero in my book, Desperate Match, was born with a handicap. He was born minus his right arm. He’s a pretty capable soldier who still has to deal with this disability.
Q. Would you rather be missing an arm or a leg?
My answer: leg. I feel like they do such amazing things with prosthetic legs these days, and arms are more complicated. Though I would miss my Zumba. Then again, the woman on Dancing with the Stars has proven that it doesn’t take real legs to boogie. What about you?
Okay, next question, and this has to do with the heroine in my book. She was in a bad marriage. Like physically abusive bad. Would you rather be abused or be the abuser? Sounds like a no-brainer, right? Of course you want to be the dominant person, right? RIGHT? Are you sure? Karma is a bitch baby. And you’ve got to be one sick Mo-Fo to hurt someone you supposedly love.
My answer: I don’t know. Can we get a new question?
Q. Would you rather have one year with a person you love deeply, madly passionately or a lifetime with a person who is a nice quiet companion, but never gets your engine revved?
My answer: Darn, I have to stop asking the hard questions. I think I go with a lifetime. Weird for a romance writer, right? We’re all about the passion, but I also like steady and reliable.
Okay- your turn. Pick a question to answer in the comments or ask your own Would You Rather! Thanks for playing, and thanks for hosting me today.
By day, Lynne Silver lives the suburban soccer mom life; volunteering with the PTA, doing laundry and working. By night she enters the sensuous world of alpha males and passionate heroines. She calls the nation’s capital home and lives in an old fixer-upper with her husband and their two sons. When not writing romance, she reads it. Lots of it. Over and over and over again, preferably with a bag of M&Ms in hand.
